Why It Is Important?
From the moment they enter the world, children embark on a remarkable journey of language acquisition. As they mature and progress, their speech and language abilities become increasingly intricate. They develop the capacity to comprehend and utilize language to express their thoughts, ideas, and emotions, forming connections with those around them. Early on, as children navigate the realm of speech and language, they acquire skills that lay the foundation for literacy—essential competencies in reading and writing.
Even before they embark on their primary schooling, children encounter print in various contexts, from the pages of books and magazines to grocery lists. Whether at home, in preschool, or while out and about at shopping malls, they engage with written materials. Parents witness the blossoming appreciation and enjoyment their child experiences with print as they begin to recognize rhyming words, experiment with crayons, point out logos and street signs, and identify some letters of the alphabet.
